Two-Tone: 1. This pattern works well with upholstery and decorator fabrics as well as velvet and corduroy.* 2. Two sections, 15” x 15”, one light, one dark. 3. An assortment of neutrals ranging light to medium/dark, plus one contrast such as red. Strips or squares, 3” to as small as 1”. Can be yardage, samples or remnants. These will become your circles.4. Felt, preferably black, at least 21” x 25”. 5. Wonder Under, 3yds. 6. Base fabric, 18” x 15”. (This will be totally covered by the light/dark fabrics so it can be muslin, calico or any other unloved fabric. *Check for remnants in Joann’s or other locations that cater to interior decorators.
Single Color: 1. One fat quarter, minimum 18” x 22”, dark background. 2. Six 1.5” x 22” light strips (sashing) 3. An assortment of contrast colors ranging from light to medium/dark. Strips or squares, 3” to as small as 1”. These will become your circles. 4. Binding to match the background. 5. Felt, any color, at least 21” x 25”. This will be your batting. 6. Wonder Under, 2yd 7. Optional - backing to fit. You may choose to add this at home.
FOR BOTH STYLES, You will need a sewing machine with zig-zag capabilities; ruler, rotary cutter and mat; piecing thread; black thread for two-tone circle zig-zag; matching thread for single color circles.
